# Notifications

Remove in-app notifications, added by [`vela enable notifications`](/docs/enable/notifications).

### Syntax

```
$ vela disable notifications
```

### Options

- `-y, --yes` - Skip the confirmation prompt

### What it removes

The notifications collection, and every record in it:

```
notifications
```

The generated files are deleted as well: the bell component, the `/notifications` page and the `notify` helper in `#lib/server/notifications.js`. The bell and its loader are taken back out of the `(app)` layout's `+layout.svelte` and `+layout.server.ts`.

### What it leaves

- The `timeAgo` helper in `#lib/utils.js` — it is generic, and other code may use it
